Horreum
Terms of Service
Effective September 21, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Horreum app and website, operated by HORREUM LLC, a Michigan limited liability company ("Horreum"). By signing in you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the app.
What Horreum is
Horreum is software a venue uses to run its wine reserve: to keep a record of the bottles held for each member, to log when bottles are pulled, and to let members and the venue's team talk to each other. Horreum is the platform; the venue is the business you deal with. The venue sets its prices, decides what goes on its list, stocks and pulls your bottles, and settles payment with you in its own way. Horreum does not sell wine, hold your bottles, or take part in any sale.
Your account
- Your locker is opened by the venue. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility.
- You must be of legal drinking age where you are. Venues may only open lockers for adults.
- You can close your account from Profile settings at any time. The venue keeps its own records of past purchases, as its books require.
Requests and payment
Sending a bottle request through the app is a request to your venue, not a purchase from Horreum. Where a venue has chosen to accept cards in the app, payment is processed by Stripe on the venue's behalf under the venue's own terms; Horreum never holds your funds. Where it hasn't, the venue settles with you directly.
Conduct
Messages in the app go to real people. Keep them civil. Horreum has no tolerance for abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable content, or for the people who send it: the app refuses abusive messages before they are sent, keepsake photos are checked by a manager before anyone sees them, and we may remove content and suspend or close the account of anyone who breaks this rule. A venue may also close the locker of anyone who directs abuse at its team. To report something, use Report a bug in Profile settings or write to gabriel@horreum.cloud; reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Don't try to reach data that isn't yours, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful.
Your content
Notes, ratings, messages and photos you add stay yours. You give Horreum and your venue permission to store and show them inside the app so the service can work, and that permission ends when you remove them or close your account.
Keepsake photos. A photo of you with a bottle is taken only if you agree to it at the table. It is shown to you alone, on your History page, once a manager at the venue has checked it; the venue's team sees it only for that check. You may delete it at any time, and the venue may decline to keep one. Neither Horreum nor the venue will use a keepsake for advertising or share it outside the app.
The bottle imagery, artwork and software in the app belong to Horreum or its licensors and may not be copied out of it. Wine names and labels shown in the app belong to their producers and are shown to identify the bottles in your locker.
Other services
Payments run on Stripe under Stripe's own terms. If you installed the app from an app store, that store's terms apply to the download as well. Horreum is not responsible for those services, and where a venue's own membership agreement covers something these terms do not, the venue's agreement governs between you and the venue.
If you work at a venue
If you sign in as a member of a venue's team, you use Horreum on the venue's behalf: the venue decides what your account may do, and its agreement with Horreum applies alongside these terms. What you record in the app — bottles added, pulls logged, requests answered — is kept in the venue's activity log under your name.
Apple's App Store
If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and Horreum, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to maintain or support it, and is not responsible for any claim about it — product, legal or intellectual-property — all of which are Horreum's to answer, to the extent these terms allow. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; it has no other warranty obligation. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US Government embargo and are not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your licence is to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's usage rules allow.
Availability and liability
Horreum is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we don't promise it will never be down or wrong, and the record in the app doesn't replace the venue's own inventory. To the fullest extent the law allows, Horreum is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability to you for anything arising from the app is limited to one hundred US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; if the change matters, the app will say so and the date above will move. We may suspend or end access for conduct that breaks these terms. A venue may close lockers under its own membership rules. You may close your account from Profile settings at any time; what happens to your information then is set out in the privacy policy.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in Kent County, Michigan.
